The weights are stunningly light. Good selection as well.I was surprised how bad the pastels were. But I saw some other photos of them that looked better than I initially thought.
Sweetwater has the new colors in stock with some good photos.

And my ocean sparkle probably Monday .That’s a fair point. Releasing them all at once was slightly off.I don't think people really hate pastels, it's likely more that people wanted more than ONLY pastels. If they had done a pastel or 2 with the current options that were just announced I don't think anyone would complain.
I just think they’re pretty. But if you need rebellion I think black will do you just fine. Maybe jackpot if you’re feeling festive.Pastels, sure if it is 1963 and you play for The Ventures or a surf revival.
There is a Grace Slick lyric, " White shirts and ties, wedding rings, wedding rings, there's so many of you". It was a rebellion to 50's norms.
I think pastels are "safe" and non rebellious... But to each his own.
My purple sunset is on the way. Should be here Sunday .And my ocean sparkle probably Monday .
I pre ordered as soon as the colors were announced at NAAM. They had them last week. just couldn't ship out or post them until release date . That's how I knew it was 2/22Damn you are quick!

I thought I hated the Pastels as well until I saw the Laguna Green it was outstanding in person.
Of the New Batch Brulee in 5HH gets my vote #1 vote. But after that Purple Sunset, Grape, Gold, ocean would work. The price has gone up $200.00 USD since 2022 when I bought my 5H. Question are there open cavities under the 5 HH pickguards? if I get something like Purple Sunset I'd love to put a clear pickguard on it to show that great paint job.
I keep debating if I want to put Cobalt Flats on My PJ IV?Now for something completely different and less exciting
Today I put Slinky Cobalt Flats [per their instructions] on my Special; cleaned with EB String wipes first not sticky no breaks, and no Black stuff on fingers or goop spots on Bass after playing; like back in 2019 on another Bass I tried them on very briefly but sounded great then and now;
Neck hasn't moved yet; a little stiffer than Super Slinky's but not that much
Have to get used to smooth feel and basically no string noise after 45+ years of rounds![]()
Count me JELLY Congrats ENJOY!!!My purple sunset is on the way. Should be here Sunday .And my ocean sparkle probably Monday .
Thank You.There's no rear route so there is open space for preamp under the guard
Thank You.
Yeah My Brunt Ends 4HH has a clear Pickguard on it. Maybe a custom 4HH SLO in Purple Sunset now that would be killer.If you want a clear pickguard, the only option would be a 4HH if you don't want to have the routing show. Unless they end up offering the 5 strings with rear routing as a custom option this spring.
I'm drooling over both of those. I can't wait to see your pictures!My purple sunset is on the way. Should be here Sunday .And my ocean sparkle probably Monday .
