Got mine in Charging Green on Friday. 8.6 lbs, best bass I’ve ever held. Quick question though: when I flip out my battery packs, one locks into place at 45 degrees to the back and doesn’t go any further. The other one will sit in that position but also will click out and go further than that in a loose way that feels like one of the pieces of plastic is failing. Bass is fully functional, I’m only worried the loose fit may prove to be a problem later in its life. I’ve got a year to get a warranty repair so I’m not super concerned about it right now. Anyone else with this issue?

Mine hasn't arrived yet, so I can't help you with the battery doors. Just wanted to say that I love the color.

Not to be rude, but why would you think a five would weigh less than a four? Even with new features...

So what I meant to say was I’m bummed these new and old 5 strings weigh LESS than my old 4 string.

My 4 string weighs 10lbs 6oz. I’m glad somebody reads my posts though.

LOVE this color. That’s a beautiful bass!
Haven’t opened battery packs on mine but will check tonight. This is my first instrument with batteries so it’s new to me.

Hah! Thanks. A certain 5 year old girl would be very excited to hear that. I got the bass on her first day of kindergarten, a day I’ll now never forget for two reasons.

I know what you mean man, my 4 stringer is 10 lbs (well, 9.9 more exact). It's one of the main reasons I'm gassing for a new one.

I'm in with 8 lbs. 6 ounces. Have had over a dozen music man basses over 30 years both 4 and 5 string mostly rays and a couple sterlings. This is my new favorite.

Never fancied myself an HH guy (I'll admit it's soley on playing classic H rays, and the look alone), but Ive played two of them now and loved them.

I love everything MM has done to evolve this bass. Having played the Aqua Sparkle 5 HH and the Charcoal Sparkle 5 HH both with ebony boards, I love the tone but the B was buzzing a lot particularly low C to E even after slightly tweaking the truss rod with minimal relief, I backed off the mids and it still was buzzing after the note. I can’t seem to dial this out, I wonder if it is the ebony causing a “clackey” attack. I certainly don’t want to be a downer to any body considering these basses.
I’ve been using EBMM for 30yrs
Any suggestions ?

Now torn between the dropped copper H, and the murdered out H. Played both today at GC and I loved them both, though the murdered out H sounded special...it was so amaze.
