.I really like it in black. The only thing is that the glossy black shows scratches pretty readily. Although I’m the only one that would notice them (and so easy to replace in future, so whatever). Better than digging a divot over the pickup where I anchor my thumb as I’ve done on my pickguard-less instruments in the past.
Both the black and white gloss pick guards will really show off any scratches. I wish they had a flat black and flat white available instead. I now always wear a rubber thumb guard when I play because I discovered my thumb nail was causing 99% of the scratches on the guard on all my basses. Which brings up a question, why can't someone come out with a scratch resistant guard? The screen on my phone and tablets never ever scratch even with rough handling. I just breath on my pick guard and it shows a sleek. Wish I weren't so paranoid about pick guard scratches but I've always taken great care of everything I've ever owned including the Snowy Night special with gloss black guard below.
