I tried a Sandberg and it was a really great bass. Only thing I didn't like was the overly complicated bridge. I'm sure I would have gotten used to it if I held onto it
There was a lot to like about my Sandy. But in the end, it fell on the block for my Special and I couldn't be happier.

My dream was never to own so many. I just wanted one. But then I started playing 5 string , and then Fretless , and the HH is so versatile , and I must have a 2band, and my goodness , the short scales add another flavor .
It might not look like it , but there is a lot of variety here. EBMM just feels right in my hands and to my ears. So I finally said ..” why fight it?”
Im in a similar boat where after buying my SRS with how expensive it was, ive considered selling off other basses.. but i always have a niche or made up justification in my head lol.
Warwick Thumb 5 BO - My only 5 string (even though its been in a case for like 7 years)
Lakland Joe Osborn Skyline - My main bass for a long time- also when they were made in indonesia (better IMO)
Fender MIA limited edition sandblasted - its limited edition, i love jazz basses and i modded it a bit
Lakland PJ in seafoam - Also limited edition and its my only Pbass
Warwick Thumb NT - its one of the nice 90s ones with the wenge neck... was also my dream bass as a teen.
Its like... most of them sit in the case, i really only need 1 .. maybe 2... but it would be hard to part with any of them lol.. The ones ive gotten the closest to putting up are the Warwicks, but i don't think id get what i want for them... or at least what what it would be worth for me to not regret it.
My Sandberg was starting to sit…. Again. I really had to remind myself to play it. That means it was time for it to go.
One of my next purchases is probbably going to be a customized jazz bass with a MM humbucker in the bridge and J in the neck position (kinda like laklands)... was actually looking at Sandberg since ive heard great things about them. My alternative is probbably Warmoth or something but im a bit worried about fit and finish with a parts bass.... My biggest beef with Sandberg is i wish they had something closer to a normal Jazz style body. I know they have one kinda close but im not a fan of the sloping pickguard or how its more of a rounded offset... who knows maybe they will release a more classic J body at some point!

I might be jealous, but I’ve got my own Musicman collection that makes me quite happy.Your two newest acquisitions are fantastic. That pink mirror pickguard really fits that short scale and your new Commerford short scale has such a classic, almost Bernard Edwards look.
It's fun and nice (maybe not 3200 USD fun and nice though), I could enjoy playing that config on stage
Messing with it right now lol... some of the option charges seem a bit wierd to me lol.. there seems to be a programming / QA error on their part for some of the options:
Finish:
Plain clearcoat natural is one of the most expensive finishes lol?! is this just because they will have to pick a nicer peice of wood since its clear? How could spraying clear be more cost/effort than spraying a burst or sparkle coat with then layers of clear?
Neck:
Sometimes when i select SLO the price stays the same... othertimes it changes to 100 more, personally i dont get why there would be a price difference either way but yea... more intersting though:
Change neck wood from roasted maple to flamed roasted maple, you get a $300+ upcharge...but if i change the fingerboard to ebony, then go back and switch it from maple to roasted maple, it actually flips it and its cheaper to get roasted flamed maple lmfao.
Im getting similar things only sometimes when i select my inlays... sometimes blocks is somehow the cheapest, and the blank one is somehow the most expensive even though that should in theory be cheaper than the standard dots.. other times i reset my build with differnet options and the price doesnt change.
All this to say, i don't get the feeling this was QA'd very well... id suggest both using this to your advantage while it lasts and simitaneously triple checking your options and choosing the options in a differnet order to make sure your not getting incorrectly upcharged for something that should be the less costly option.

Thanks for the suggestion and ive heard great things about sire overall but my god that bodyshape looks horrible haha. Subjective but its further away from the asthetics i like about a Jbass than the Sandberg is.
They certainly won‘t, because that’s where they came from and literally had to change it because of copyrights. If you are interested look for Sandberg Jazz Bass V1 or old version. Maybe you‘ll find something used.
But the new version is actually really comfortable to play!
