What do you guys think about the new mono "hard" cases?
I'm a little disappointed because it's very well constructed and pleasant to be looked at, but it doesn't have any kind of protrusion on the lower side of it. Considering that it will be put on every type of surface (dry/wet tarmac, thorny wood, gravel, dust etc), it's easy to think that it will last not so long due to damages on the underside.

Has anybody modified one, for example installing small supports beneath? If yes, how?

Yup, sorry full circle They have lots of options, just none that appeal to me at the moment thanks though.

They have a fake CF but they said it was delaminating so they discontinued. I have a sheet of real CF arriving Sunday, so I’ll machine one up. No big deal.

Companies like WD Custom and Greasy Groove make them but I'm not seeing for the Special specifically. They all seem to be for models that predate the Special but I wonder how different the pickguards are from each other.

It is much larger and bulkier than I thought a semi-soft case would be (My first). I imagined something more like a low $ gig bag

Agreed, I see the fabric getting snagged/scraped and showing wear very quickly and easily. (I don't know who made my 2000 Modulus hard case, but I aside from some kind of mildew situation or disintigration of the interior materials I see it lasting another 26 years

I usually find myself imagining modifying basically everything. For this case, I envision improved interior neck support band like a Reunion Blues , "Scuff/Scrape" resistant material added to the side/bottom plus like 4 "Feet" on the bottom side (Where it will be laid when opened). The 4 "Feet" will be the sacrificial surface vs scuffing up the whole bottom side

A fretless doesn’t HAVE to sound so fretlessy. Took the Dogal Hellborg rounds off last night and went back to Super Slinky’s and assumed my “normal” neck setup. I’m just not a light touch string player. It’s fun for awhile but I prefer being able to dig in more without the notes being pulled sharp. Flat EQ on the DI out, EBMM pre bass and treble slightly boosted with mids at center detent and pickup in parallel.

I don't give her as much time as she deserves, but when I get to play my Stingray Special (2020, Ghostwood, GHS Pressurewounds), I thoroughly enjoy the playability (easy neck, low action, light weight) and the all-round, slightly 'polite' sound.

Nice bass but having it lying down on what looks like shingles is giving me a rash. lol

I've used them for a couple of Mike Lull basses. They're really great to deal with. I just ordered a SR5 vintage pearl guard from them. Going to turn this...
