EBMM Stingray vs. G&L L-2000

I have both of these basses in the market place and selling at a similar price.

Both are:
4-strings
US Made
Minty

Which one would you go for and why?

I've had my eye on a L2000 for a while. The tones I've heard from them are great, I like how they look, and I like the control layout makes sense to me. The only Stingrays I'm interested in are the specials and they cost more than the L2000s. So I imagine I'll find an L2000 in my price and weight range before I find a Stingray special.

I have both.
If you forced me to pick, it's the Stingray, partially because I have better control of it and the tones it can produce. I haven't spent enough time with the L2000 to set the tone settings intuitively. I also have to admit that some of my favorite players have played Stingrays and that sadly affects my opinion as well.

The stingray, because I don’t like the sound of two humbuckers together, I don’t like the sound of a plain neck humbucker, and I prefer the placement and sound of the stingray humbucker. Plus I like the stingray’s finish better as well as the neck size and shape. That said my first bass was an 1980’s-era L-2000 and I miss it.

Both are great and I have them. You cant really go wrong with either. Stingray can be pretty bright and the high mids/highs are imo kind of "springy", but you can tame it for sure. The L2000 is a little bit less sizzly but its so powerful in the mix.
