I was getting some buzz or hum when not touching the strings. Opened up the cavity to find no shielding. Did my bass get missed for shielding or do they not shield Stingrays? It's a 2015 4 H

I do believe that Stingrays are shielded and very well so. I've had 5 SR5s over the years and never a buzz or noise issue. Judging by the appearance of the cavity, my guess is that they use a shielding paint of some kind. That's just an uninformed guess, though….
I would look inside to see if the wire between the bridge and the ground in the pickup cavity has become disconnected.
