Ebola Comes To USA

In better news the vaccine has been found to be effective and the most effective dosage determined.

Does This Ebola Vaccine Herald the End of the Virus? - Scientific American

Now if we can develop a vaccine for panic and fearmongering we'll be making real progress.

What is amazing though is the speed and efficiency with which age old problems are sometimes addressed when the health or wealth of the richer countries is threatened!

Next stop malaria- if countries like the U.S. And others didn't control it with mass and permanent mosquito extermination regimes then I'm sure there would be a cure or vaccine already, and since decades.

Good it's about time it was contained. It wasn't panic, it was an abundance of caution.

LOL.

Can you imagine how much worse things would have been if the advice of the 'abundantly cautious' was followed? Firing the head of the agency charged with protecting the nation's health mid crisis, sealing the borders of Afican countries, thus ensuring the uncontrolled spread within them, which would inevitably eventually spread to the rest of the world, incidentally destroying whole African economies and thus exacerbating the refugee crisis, and creatiing a massive divide between the rich and poor countries that would extend for generations, etc.

No spinning this one- the people who whipped up the panic to sell their newspapers and get clicks, for furthering their anti immigration agendas (Rupert Murdoch, are you listening you evil creature?) have been shown up for their reckless cynicism, and the cooler heads who preached calculated combined efforts to combat a potential world problem and who based decisions on science and knowledge over fear and panic have prevailed.

May it be a learning experience for a world that too easily is swayed by fear and suspicion. I'm not so optimistic about this though.

Here's some good stuff from the first few pages.

People will get infected, hide it, and fly home to their families anyway. People are selfish. Ultimately, there is no way to contain it.
Nothing to worry about?

Check this out:

From my local paper.

"Jeffrey Gunzenhauser, a health director at the L.A. County Department of Public Health, says the likelihood of Ebola traveling here from Texas is low.

"There's really no risk that what's going on in Texas is going to come to California," he told us. "That's not going to happen."

Famous last words.
All part of the master plan. Time to fire up the fema camps.
Tick tock tick tock
they said the Titanic would never go down either.
