Well that's fine. I have nothing against him of course, I just thought it was a really lame article and wrote in.
I'm getting kind of tired of seeing this guy's mug:
Please, appreciate the quite intellectualism. He's like the Thinker, but instead of thinking, he's making me want to beat the **** out og him. Cerebral, no?

Eddie was great back in the day, but he's a little past it now. He didn't seem to transition well from the 80's like some of the other more progressive players like Satch and Vai did...who, imo, produced their best work in the early 90's and have worked to a high standard ever since!
I think Van Halen's last "good" cd was Balance and there were only a couple of good songs on that one. That was 1995. Too bad the past 12 years have been nothing more than fodder for The Enquirer. He seems to have become even more content in resting on his laurels and even capitalizing more on his past because he really has nothing new to offer.

At least it looks like he's cleaned up a bit. He looked (and acted) like some random homeless guy when I saw the vids of him doing his NAMM show presentation for Fender a few months ago.

I mean, I like Van Halen post DLR, but then I picked up "Eat 'em and smile", and hearing Bissonette, Vai and Sheehan smacked of "my band's better than your band" on Dave's part...but the songs were amazing!

I WAS angry to get GW mag instead of what I paid for.
Then I get an issue with Makeover Eddie on the cover trying to be a potty-mouth salesman for his overpriced stuff. Maybe that's all he's got left.....
Yeah, Sheehan doesn't exactly have the vocal ability that Michael Anthony possesses! He gets an A for effort though!+100

His band WAS better.
Yep, a millions times better! Vai and Sheehan are a dream team, and Bissonette is no slouch on the drums either! He did an awesome job on Joe Satriani's "The Extremist".
I've met Ed a couple times, but actually got to hang out a bit with Al. Nice guys. I hope Ed is as well as he can be, given his health problems, and addictions. He changed music. He is a living legend of Rock. One should only wish him the best.
He looks a lot better these days...maybe it's just the haircut, but he looks healthier than he has in a long while!
