Eden 2x10 vs 4x10

I have the opportunity to buy an Eden xlt 2x10 cabinet at a good price. It would replace a heavier Eden 4x10 cabinet. If I would be putting out 250 watts via my amp, out of either cabinet individually, would I be sacrificing anything terms of overall sound? the 2x10 total wattage is 350 at 8 ohms. The 4x10 is around 700 at 8 ohm. My amp is 250 at 8 ohm. I just want something a little lighter to carry around.

I caution you about trying to gig with a single 2x10. In my experience it would be insufficient. I use a pair of 2x10s in a vertical stack and the pair work very well. I'd not try to gig with a single one.

I've used two D112XLT's for gigging. They did the job. Never tried the D210XLT though...

210XLT is a heavy mother and never quite cut it for most gigs. Lighter for sure than the 410 but for me still a beast in a little car.....I was Eden only for years but found much lighter and better sounding solutions.

Million threads here about 12s whatever. May want to sound some out. I use the Genz Neox 112T (2 or 1 depending on gig) after dumping the 210XLT and the world is a shinier happier place

Get a neo 410. You'll be better off. My AE410 fits in the back seat of my passenger sedan.

Thanks for all the responses. Before I read these comments just now, I got back from the music store where I played the Eden 2X10 XLT through my amp. I wasn't thrilled with the quality of the sound: loss of bottom. I'm keeping my 4x10 Eden xlt for now. I was going to trade in my 2X15 Peavey cabinet with two Eminence Delta 15A speakers. I'm glad I didn't do that either. I played the Eden 2x10, then my Peavey 2X15 in the music store and the depth and power of the my 2x15 impressed me once again (you see, i don't gig with it much yet - waiting for the big outside festival gig). I couldn't part with it. So, staying with what I have for now.

IMO you made a sensible decision. Just 'cos it's old doesn't mean it's no longer of use.
