Eden Cabs: EX line (EX110, EX112, EX410)

I'm still wanting to hear how an EX stack, specifically a pair of EX210's performs in a medium-loud live situation. Most reports here are regarding the tiny cabs at bedroom or coffee house levels. Does the EX series come close to the sound and efficiency of the D series, or are they worlds apart (as the price would suggest)?

I play in a 4-piece rock band (two guitars, Fender Super Reverb and Fender Mustang 3 amps) and a pretty heavy-handed drummer. Playing a "barroom-size" venue is definitely doable with my two EX112 cabs and 500+ Watts to split between them (MB500 or 1001rb) but there isn't a ton of (cab) headroom left in the tank. If it won't do it, you're likely playing too loud for the bar anyway (and trust me, we're PLENTY loud.) I use one EX112 with the same heads for practice with the same band (in a finished basement) and never have to push it hard to be loud enough.

I like them plenty. They're nice cabs for my needs. There are cheaper, lighter, and louder cabs out there but none that I've found balance those three better while still sounding great than the EX112's (again... for my needs.) I like that I can bring one or both of them depending on the venue. (I have an NV610 for the heavy-lifting gigs.)

Just wizzer cones on the EX112 - no tweeters.

I have an Eden Nemisis RS212 (discontinued) Cab that is a real decent 2x12 for the money. I paid $350 (new) it's a 4ohm 400 watt cab. These EX Cabs are nothing but the RS Series Re-branded as full blown Eden's. Real Furniture Grade Plywood, decent drivers, and relatively light weight. Your audience will not know what you're playing on. The only one's that will know are other bass players who are familiar with the Nemisis cabs. The RS series IMO was a step up from other Nemisis Cabs. I had no shame in playing gigs with the RS212 Cab. The RS212 is now being sold as an EX212 combo. Same cab and speakers as I still have with a re-branded Nemisis head I believe. And no they don't sound as good as the more expensive series. But they do sound good for the money spent.

All relative. I actually prefer these to "real" Eden cabs, sonically.

I agree Mike A, I've still got, use n luv my Nemesis NC410 4ohm from '01, dark blue rat fur, pop out casters, top strap handle, side plastic cup handles model weighing in at 24kg/52lbs with 450w handling power n I'll quote myself again: 1/2 the weight, 1/2 the price, sounds twice as good as an Eden! Warmer sound too. Don't get me wrong, Edens r also great cabs but gimme a Nemmy any day, 4 the above reasons. My 2c.

I received my cab, ordered from BeyondEleven.com after 6 weeks. (!!!) Not worth the $20 savings over Amazon for that kind of delay, that's for sure. Their site even said "in stock" when I ordered, but they later admitted that they drop-ship from the manufacturer. (Strange way of doing business - they wait two weeks after you order then send all their drop-ship order requests out in a "batch").

This is a nicely-built little cabinet with a quality driver. Sure, the 1/4" jack is a bit lame, but I removed it and had a speakon jack screwed in as a replacement within 5 minutes of un-boxing the cab. Simple, and no "surgery" at all so long as you get the speakon jack with the large round outer flange - a $3 part and a few minutes of my time.

I also put a spring-loaded surface mount handle on the bottom for a "tilt-back" feature - a $4 part.

Sounds great at home with my GK MB200 head and I used it at a jazz gig with my upright bass and it sounded awesome - made load in/out a breeze.

I haven't used it in a loud setting with a drummer, so I can't comment on that other than saying I personally wouldn't even try it without two of these stacked.. I will say that it sounds suprisingly balanced with a nice crisp, but not overbearing top end. This thing is a real hidden gem.
