EDEN E300T

HI,I´M CARLOS MARKINA FRON SPAIN.I RECENTLY BUY ONE EDEEN E300T IN GERMANY. THIS AMP IS ENGINERRING IN U.S.A. BUT MADE IN CHINA, I HAVE MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS AMP.

1º- THE VALVES ARE NO VERY GOOD.NO PROBATION IN FACTORY AND I HAVE REPLACEMENT 3 ON PREAMP.

2º THE VALVES FROM POWER SECTION ISN´T IN GOOD CORRECTION POSITION.

3º THE VENTILITAION ISN´T VERY GOOD.

4º IN THE REALIST THIS AMP HAVE 190WTS + OR- NO 300WTS. THIS IS COMPROVATION FOR A TECNICIAN.

THIS AMP IS GOOD TO VALUE BUT THE RESULT ISN´T VERY GOOD. :

Caps lock isnt your friend mate, and no offense it is pretty hard to make out what your saying but I realize that your first language probably isnt English.

So the valves arent good correct?

Explain the power valves not in the correct position, and the thing is made in China?

I thought it would be USA?

For some odd reason the caps don't bother me, but I'd still advice against using them. Folks around here don't like them at all .

Sorry to hear that You had problems, but did You do any research before buying that amp? Many, including me, have came to the same conclusion:

Ashton/Eden/Fame "300" watters are the same Chinese amp rebranded.

If You had searched TB after googling EDEN E300T, you would most probably found at least 5 threads about the subject. One of them is my review of the Fame BVH300.

As for Your claims, they are absolutely true.

#1 The tubes aren't very good, but at least they're EH's, could be much worse. But then again, a head for the price of NOS KT88s is a deal?

#2 If You mean the orientation, yep, in one of the threads I was wondering wether they (Eden) would actually try to sell an amp equipped with metal base KT88s hanging upside down with only base clamps. I think we probably know now . Top hats with strings is the "only" way it'll work.

#3 Here I don't know, works well enough with the Fame. But all tube amps get hot. As long the caps stay reasonably cool it doesn't matter.

#4 Again correct, at least with the original tubes. Haven't tried any better ones as the head is too loud already. Also something You would have picked up with a bit of research.

All and all I think it's a good value for the money (Fame), obviously I don't know what You paid for the Eden, but tube amps are tricky and tube amps made cheaply are even trickier IMHO.

It's still under warranty? Use it.

Ok. excuseme for the caps. i´m not speak english good, and i have very problems for my explications.

i´m happy with the sound of this amp,the bass of this amp is very good, but the fabrication isn´t good and i have not the garanty because i repair the amp in one particulary tecnician .

the tecnician better the sound and better the problems and in this moments the amp is very good (200€ repair for the moment)

Hi, Carlos.

200€ ? That's a lot of money dumped into a new amp (1/3 of the Fame). How come it's not under warranty anymore, did Your tech modify it some way to void the warranty?

I do realize that my amp most probably isn't under warranty anymore either. Taking the damn thing apart, taking inside pics and changing tubes + posting the evidence on a forum is a direct violation of warranty policies, methinks . But I do all my maintenance myself anyway and I honestly didn't expect too much of the amp because of the price.

One thing You should IME/IMHO do when "breaking in" the tubes. Monitor closely the bias test point voltages. If any tube needs constant tweaking and slides either up or down considerably, replace it (or preferably the Push-Pull pair) with another ones before anything catasthropic happens. I'm sure that Your tech will explain it for you better if you ask him.
And mark the "defective one" so You don't use it anymore. Your tech can probably test it to see wether there's a problem or not.

I will trace the schematics one day, and I suggest that Your tech should do the same. Or at least take some voltage readings while the head is still operational. I have a feeling that those WILL come handy sometime in the future.
