overkill?

What's that?
Never heard that one before!:p

That rig at full volume would turn every picture on the walls in the house at about 30-45 degrees. I would have to straighten them after every loud session..A few times my wife would come home from work and say in a pleasant voice: "played bass tonight honey?" and i'd say "sure, how'd you guess?"..She'd answer in a very loud/angry voice: BECAUSE THE F*!?ING PICTURES ARE ALL TILTED AGAIN!! YOU'RE GOING TO CRACK THE WALLS WITH THAT THING!! IT'S TOO LOUD-GET RID OF IT!!!"

Haha..I guess she was right..This new rig suites my current needs just fine I think..Maybe I might also get a D210 XLT to go with it at some point, but nothing bigger.. we'll see..

Sign me up please!
I have a WT-400, 210XLT and a 112XLT.
The WT is in need of a little attention so my shuttle 6.0 has been getting most of the action lately but I hope to get it to the shop soon.

Sure thing!
Great name Gordon!
#171 for you.

You just have to screw things down tighter! :D

Thank you. Strangely it actually has nothing to do with my amplification choices. It came from a dream I had long ago (before Eden amps) that I had a famous power pop band named Gordon of eden. (Play on words for Garden of Eden)
My real name is actually Dave but I do have some material that will at some point be released under the GOE name.
I thought it an appropriate username for a site such as this.

Here's mine.

Only cause I saw this Koch name in the reply above, Im reminded our guitar players 15 watt Koch amp he cranks to all get out, let the smoke out all over our practice room Saturday nite. He can't say what caused it but man we were just cruzin along on a blues tune, he strummin chords. We heard a screaching kinda noise and "smoke got in my eyes". :p Practice over.

So is who/what is Koch? Do they make tubes, amps, etc for Eden or what?

Koch made his own bass amp that is identical to the eden. But I guess he didnt have usa distrobution or nobody would buy the name or whatever, so there was a deal that Koch would make the amp for eden. Same goes with Sadowsky I think.

Koch even made a tube bass amp for a couple other companies, but only he knows the real details.

JP,

I'm mostly on the Eden site, but I'll sign up here as well. ;)

Gimme a number, eh?

I just picked up a Eden Navigator and I cant believe the tone and versatility of this Preamp and I havent even had a chance to spend to much time with it yet.
Here are a couple of random pics of my Eden gear.

Go easy on the knobs, its taken me YEARS to learn the amp. THe mid range controls my tone. To be damn well honest you I still don't touch the enhance or the tube. Set the Semi-Parametric forever ago & never touched that again either. Be patient! Good luck

"What are the differences, if any, between the Eden and Sadowsky amps by Koch?"

They have different preamp sections, the Eden has two variable gain stages where the Sadowsky has three. The Eden uses 6650 tubes producing 300 watts and the Sadowsky uses EL34 tubes for 200 watts.

They do sound different but I have yet to A/B them in the same room. Tom Bowlus did an excellent review (convinced me) on an SA200 thread here on TB.

Did not mean to de-rail to the Koch format, sorry. Now, reading over some of these pages here and alot of pages on the Eden site, sorta getting gas to try a Eden amp with my used-new-to me Eden cabs. Started out of curiosity last year buying a low priced TBers older, D210T, he installed Em Deltalite II 2510's, badazz for a 210, 500 watts @ 4ohms.

Then last week found a really good price local on a cherry, 4 ohm, 410XLT, brought that home thinking 610's next gig; next gig being this weekend. Then the replies came in about how I should use a 8ohm 210 instead of 4 ohm for better watts disppersion (sp?) thru all 6 drivers. So now I have a 8 ohm, newer 210XLT coming this week, thanks swpyne. I'll try the 410 w/ each 210 see which one works best and maybe move one out; or not.

So the Eden cabs are falling in my front door and I have either B1500 or GBE 750 amps to plug em into. Just in case I find a deal out there, what Eden head would go well with my 2 Eden (610) cabs? Or will the heads I currently use do the job: better/as well/or not at all? I know my amps will power the cabs, what about tone and overall sound?
