That's a success story I like to hear. I think I was the one who posted the link to the 1205's on sale at Amazon for below wholesale where you got one. A couple of others who got one at Amazon had to return them because they made a lot of noise. :(

Yep! The prices I got this and my D610XST for were insane. Probably THE best deals I have ever gotten on new gear in my life.:)

I got two 1205's from Amazon (the first worked perfectly, but had been damaged during shipping, so it was replaced for free). Both amps I recieved were/are dead quiet, and worked/work flawlessly.

Last night my WT-800 and 410xlt were just not sounding "great". It was a bit too clean and mellow for me. *The room probably had a lot to do with it - not blaming the Eden for it!

So I ran my Sansamp Bass DI with the drive around 2:00, the bass and high around 10:00, the presence about 9:00 and blended until I had the right amount of grit.

I was loving it.

Anyone else do anything to "dirty" up the sound a little - kind of like an Allen Woody with Gov't Mule tone?

Can't wait to try it again tonight.

Okay - so last night, it didn't work.
The room didn't sound great, and I was struggling to get "my sound". I started with the Bass DI and it just didn't sound right.

I switched it off and the Eden did a great job and didn't sound bad at all.

I did use the Sansamp with some of the settings from the post above for a few songs that needed a little extra "push" from the bass.

I'm a firm believer that bass should be DI'd AND mic'd and mixed as need be; the DI to fortify the sound of our drivers. We work hard at a sound and if all the mains hear is DI, seems a waste. The sound of our drivers shouldn't go to waste, just as with guitards. If you don't need.the DI in the mix, its ok not to use it. Just don't let an sound guy tell you you don't need a Mic! Lol.

I am still completely smitten with my WT800a that I have now owned for six months, so it is not just a honeymoon phase anymore. In fact, I am loving it more and more as I'm learning the wonders of the absurdly powerful eq section and adjusting the gain for musical clipping. I had heard that you can't overdrive the preamp on a WT amp with good results, but have now come to the conclusion that whoever said that never really tried.

This pic is from the studio. I play G&Ls with a small, dirt oriented pedalboard (evolved since this pic) into the WT800a and the Ampeg cab you see here. I think we ended up using four tracks for the bass, two mics, a clean signal from a Radial JDI and a dirty track from the Tonehammer. The result was awe inspiring, definitely the best bass recording I've done yet.

In the future, I might go for an Eden cab, but for now I really dig the punch of this one.

I've been drooling over the Eden sound for a while now, but just last night, I finally had a chance to try out a WT800 into a 410 cab. The best way I can describe the sound is "punchy attack with buttery sustain and decay". Very clean precise sound.

I now have a very serious case of GAS (or would that be AAS?) - time to save some money. I'm hoping to pick one up with a 210 or 212 cab (transporting a 410 in my car just ain't gonna happen).

I own a '97 Eden Metro combo and I'm looking to add a new extension cab...a 2x10, 4x10 or maybe a 2x12

Although the speaker section of the combo states that it's 8 ohms, the amp states that it can run down to 2 ohms...

Would it be safe to add a 4 ohm cabinet? Would I be running the amp too hard?

If your Metro is 8 ohms, and you add a 4 ohm cab, then you will have 2.67 Ohms. And that is acceptable with the Metro.

Yes I'm curious about these new 212xst cabs as well. Many Eden lovers have been asking for a four twelve cab. Two of these might just do and the new liniar configuration is cool too. The xlt was the size of a 410xst so I like this development.
