Maybe you forgot that David Nordschow sold Eden to U.S. Music (Washburn), so this time it was one major corporation selling it to another.

Well if there was no improvement in the sound of the Heritage SVT-CL and cabs over the other ones, including all the other American-made ones when SLM owned it, I might say you had a point. But there is, so I'm not seeing it. But that's just me...vote with your dollars any way you see fit. I will, too.

While true, they're also very versatile and can cop sounds you wouldn't ordinarily associate with Ampeg.

But I digress. Anyway, I'll reiterate that people said the same thing about Ampeg never being able to recover from the early LOUD years under the former head idiot until they came out with the PF500, which became the best selling amp in the world right now. Because the market is so volatile at the moment with improvements in micro technology and tube amp emulation, not to mention the prices dropping, you can't count out any company whose doors aren't boarded up.

I'm thinking the first few posts summed it up. If it's not BS, then it's a good move for both Eden and Marshall. I was intrigued by the "Ghosts of Eden Past" reference, since that's a pretty limited selection. :)

Plus, they anodize their panels nearly the same shade. Perfect. ;)

I certainly hope this will put Eden back in the right direction.
I am glad to see that they have dropped almost all of there recently released amplifiers and stuck with just their core WT Series heads......maybe this is a good sign that they will move production back to the USA seeing how it is a very limited number of products to produce.
I wish they would get rid of there small crappy amps that really had no business having a Eden badge on them in the first place...but only time will tell.
I still own a few Eden cabs and a WT405 head....there all that I have left because they are still the best sounding bass gear I have ever played through.....period.
People can say/write whatever they want....some of it is very well justified, some of it is just band wagon jumpers....so be it.
I like there gear and if I ever get back into a actual playing gig I would happily buy more.

There's plenty of USA made Eden stuff left around for the die-hards IMO. The chances of them making stuff in the USA again is not good at all. It's not like they were taken over by Alembic or Rickenbacker or Mesa....and if they made an amp similar to the PF500 at twice the price who is buying it?

Of course the only new amp I've bought in 15 years is a Mesa, so what do I know?

Exactly. Which is why I just moved back to Eden from Genz Benz. Used to run a WT550B into a D410XLT4 and a D210XLT8. Switched over to Genz Benz for awhile, and while it sounded very good, once the honeymoon was over, I was left a little "lacking". I don't think I am cut out for lightweight gear.

Now I'm using a WT1205 into a D610XST. And I couldn't be happier.:)

got to A/B a Heritage SVT and an 8x10 side by side against a Vietnamese one - tried every configuration. The Heritage was in a whole other league, and sounded GREAT. The Vietnamese one stank....sorry. Sounded old, farty, and weak.

It's a bit of everything - the parts, the manufacturing quality, etc. It all makes a bit of difference, leading up to quite a BIG difference.
