Eden woes continue...

You can get some really great deals on used Eden gear, actually.
I managed to pick up an Eden 410XLT for $500 out the door, and a Time Traveler for $300. The only things wrong with them were solely cosmetic.

On a side note: Does anyone know if Eden makes rack wings/ears for the Time Traveler?

Well I have an infamous 1205, the run I got has been pretty good. Sounds great plenty of power.
I must be one of the wierd ones. I was having a clicking noise. CS thought it might me a tube and sent me a new tube immed. Went to check it out before installing and found out it was actually a speaker. Exchanged speakers immed. no problem.
You ALWAYS hear when something goes wrong, but seldom hear when everything works out fine.

Eden seems to be the new whipping boy around hear. :confused:

Went back to pick up my amp today, and the tech showed me a stack of Eden repair tags about 3 inches deep that were waiting on either RA's or parts, some for many months. He said that US Music doesn't even reply to his emails anymore, and they have given up trying to contact them. Someone in the shop had put a big red skull and crossbones next to the Eden name on top of the stack.

They did a good job, and fast; it had apparently blew some low voltage output power supply thing. He said it was not likely to happen again, and was just a faulty part.

He also said some amazing stuff about QSC poweramps that I didn't know about - may be my next rig.

and my navigator pre is sounding/working super. i was thinking of going with something else, just to extinguish the g.a.s., but it really does what i want it to, and without problems of any kind :)

Isn't that always the way? My guitard's dad owns a big furniture store and had a delivery truck's rear axle snap, in traffic, six months out of warranty a few days ago. Count yourself lucky.;)
I dropped a small mountain of money on a Walter Woods amp last year, bought another from a TB'er this summer, beat the mess out of both and haven't had one problem. And he calls me back to explain stuff about electronics I can't begin to understand for half an hour. Just a suggestion.

I bought a new wt405 and it came with them. If you go over to the eden forum and contact "Lane Baldwin" he should set you up.

In fact, anyone with issues with their eden gear should get in contact with him. Apparently, he is the guy who makes things happen.

Edit: I should note that he prefers if you contact him only if the matter cant be resolved thru their customer service centre. If you're having problems with eden cs then go thru Lane.

The WT330 and WT405 are identical except for the power transformer, so get the rack ears for the WT330.

I bought some a few weeks ago for my WTX260 from this same page, paid through Paypal, and received the rack ears in a couple of weeks.

My WT500 began making really loud popping sounds a couple of years ago. Thanks to the Eden forums (and a schematic sent by Eden) I was able to track the problem down to a pair of resistors in the front of the amp, as far away from the fan as they could be, that were heating up enough to partially melt their solder joints.
After fixing the solder joints, I drilled holes in the amp case, top and bottom, and I always leave extra space around the amp in my rack for air flow.
No problems since then, but I'm a bit skeptical about their amps now.

This should tell the whole story, but I'll be happy to try to answer any further questions. I called Eden for the schematic--I couldn't find it online.

Also, kudos to Eden for keeping that thread around for these last couple of years! I didn't really expect to be able to find it after this long.

Good luck with that. I hope the WT400 is similar-enough to my WT500 that my postings in the Eden forum will be applicable to your amp.

I have to say that while my amp was out of commission I had to use a different preamp-to-DI arrangement to record most of a CD. I was really glad to hear that great tone again in the headphones once I had my Eden amp back together!
