Effects for Christmas

EHX Bass Big Muff. Great pedal for the money.

+1

Honestly a great pedal. I sometimes have my hesitations when a company does a bass version of an old classic model but this is quite a good improvement from the guitar version I used to use on bass.

Might I had : Try an Electro-Harmonix Bassballs. Not everyone's cup of tea but I dig it ! And speaking of EHX, the Octave multiplexer just rocks with bass !

played with a guitarist that had the boss slicer. good lord that thing can make a lot of different noises. its on my list, and they probably have one locally that you could try out.

but, as for affordable filters, the qtron is great even though its got a bit of a volume spike (and a used one would be super cheap). im also fairly pleased with my maxon af-9, though they might be slightly more money (forget).

as for a fuzz... im not really qualified to recommend a budget one. sorry.

+1 for the El Grande.

Not too pricey, and you can get some noticably different sounds youll like by playing with the Tone and Fuzz knobs as well as the "deep" button (you push this little button when you want to add 15dB to your low end)

pretty cool pedal, and I play it with an old Boss Bf-2 when I wana make some crazy psychadelic soundscapes. You could probably find a used BF-2 for not too much

Just ordered a Korg Ampworks Bass Processor on Ebay last night. Has a lot of cool effects on it, think this will help in figuring out what effects I can utilize, and I can move on to pedals from there...think I'm getting the Big Muff Pi for Christmas though from the ol' lady.
