Effects order/FX loop with VT Bass Deluxe

Ok, I have searched, and read, but my head's still kind of spinning trying to figure this out. But still not clear, so any help is appreciated.

I'm going to be getting a VT Bass Deluxe, and will be gigging out with it. One of my main goals, is to be able to have all of my effects heard & running through the front of the house when DI'd. So wondering, exactly how that would work with using certain effects before and after the VT?

Here's what I'll have for effects:

tuner
IE oxide fuzz
mxr octave
mxr envelope filter
boss chorus
phase 90
and the VT

Running through a Carvin B1500 head.

So from what I've read, I should have the chorus & phaser after the VT...in that case, what's the best way for me to hook up/loop these effects, so they're all coming through to the front, assuming I DI from the pedal?

I've never used the FX loop on my amp, so not 100% familiar with it, even though I have an idea of how it works...but I'm confused. Thanks!

I'd like to know this too, since I haven't used the VT as a DI (yet) and run 8 different effects.

** As an aside, you'd want to run the filter through the loop as well. If it'll go to the front, however, is another question completely.**

If you DI from the pedal then the pedal is the end of the road. Anything you put after it is lost. Basically there's your answer right there; if you need to put something after the VTD then it can't be your DI. Solution, forget the VTD has a DI at all and use another DI later in your chain.

i have the same question if i should keep my pedals all in the effect loop of the bass vt deluxe? or maybe just the ones that usually go after drive, in my situations

Bass > Comp > Octave > drive > Fuzz > Wah > VT BASS DELUXE > Ampeg

then a loop from the deluxe which would be: send > chorus > deley > recieve ?

I know logically you would have the drive in the front of the chain, but if the VT is in essence a pre amp/ amp emulator then there shouldn't be an issue with having your effects in front. Or am I mistaken? I used my VT in the front of the chain since I used it for color/boost rather than a pre-amp.

This might help a little.

The DI is tied to the effects loop as long as the Deluxe is engaged on one of its channels.

My chain is Bass>Tuner>Compressor>Fuzz>Chorus>Flange>Delay>Maximizer>VT Deluxe>Head\Board\Power Amp

My VT Deluxe is set up last in the chain due to the fact that I can.......

1. Record direct to board using all my effects and just carry my board and bass to the studio.

2. I can drive the power amp in my Shuttle and use the VT Deluxe as a preamp. (Just as if you had the 1969 head plugging straight into the front input)

3. I can run the VT in front of my LM300 head and use it as a OD\Preamp and turn it off if I just want the tone of my LM300 (This way I still get all my effects through to my head).

One thing I know for certain is that if you have effects in the loop they will not be active through the 1/4" or DI out unless you engage the VT Deluxe. So if you have any intention on disengaging the Deluxe while you have effects in its loop, any effect in that loop will be bypassed while the Deluxe is disengaged.
