Effects switcher- HB FXL8 anyone use this?

I think i've narrowed my research down to getting this device

Anyone use this? I see 2 references here when i search, both seem to be positive. Any negative experiences?

It seems to have everything i need. The size is right and the price is very reasonable.

Will i regret not going for the Boss or EHX?

I can't speak for any of these devices as a user, but I know the Boss ES5/8 are FAR more sophisticated than the Harley Benton- the Harley Benton is just a programmable serial looper, meaning in a preset you are just saving whether each loop is on or off but they always remain in the order they are plugged in. With the Boss ES loopers you can actually edit the order of the FX loops for each patch or even run loops in parallel with each-other. The Boss units also offer much deeper MIDI implementation, so you can swap tempo and MIDI expression settings per preset.

Harley Benton stuff is usually considered decent for the price, and this unit does offer a lot for the price, but the Boss ES devices offer a whole lot more (but you pay for it too!)). The EHX unit (I assume you are talking about the Super Switcher?) seems to have similar features to the Harley Benton (a basic programmable serial switcher with MIDI and control outputs), but is also much more expensive. To me it seems like a choice between the complex capabilities of the Boss (which are probably beyond most player's needs) or the more bare-bones functionality of the Harley Benton.

I think for at least the next while the complex capabilities of the Boss are not necessary for my needs.

I'm really only looking at a switcher because my feet are too big to do the pedalboard tapdance and I'm constantly stepping on switches i dont want to be.

Sounds lkke the HB will suit me fine. Will order today! I will use it side by side with my dmc.micro gen 4.

Will be a fun project to setup.

Already ordered a patchbay for my board so this will work nicely with that setup

Today the 2nd hand FXL8 Pro I ordered off eBay arrived and in the midst of programming it. I'm not sure how to activate the triggers yet, hence looking for info and advice online. I'd like to use one of the stomps to act as a momentary footswitch to cycle through the presets on my recent MXR Synth Bass pedal, ideally in both modes (when the pedal is active or not). So far so good though! Aiming to gig with this tomorrow night
