Effects world in '08

I would like to see a multi-effects unit for under $300 that does everything as well as my favorite pedals. My Boss ME-33 comes close. It's got good distortion and OD, great delays and reverbs, and a great stereo chorus and amp modeling (or at least as good as amp modeling can be). But phasing, wah wah, flanging, and compression is out to lunch. The compressor is good for guitar squeeze tones, that's about it.

I'd like to see Line6 come out with a multiple unit docking system for their modular Tonecore pedals. That'd be awesome conisdering they actually sell the modules seperate if you want them -- imagine a five stomp multi where you could choose any effect you wanted (well, any Tonecore effect) in whatever order.

I also want the HOG bundled with the preset footswitch for less money :D

A Boss ring modulator would be sweet. At least one that didn't need a GK pickup. A better GK pitchshifter wouldn't be bad though.

I'd like a manufacturer to make a "growl/snarl" box. Not an OD, not a Fuzz, not distortion. An emulating device that can be added to any bass and with the stomp of a button and flip of a dial go between Warwick and Spector 'traditional' tones. Simple controls for active/passive inputs, level adjust and effect amount.

Guess that would be a Line6 Variax bass heh? I want that, in a pedal, with those two modelled basses only.

I would like to see EH make an updated Bass Micro Synth with the octaves done by the POG/Micro POG circuit, a smaller enclosure, and expression input for the stop frequency. I would also like to check out the Chunk Systems bass synth that's been under development.

That's a very small market to appeal to. :D

I heard Behrginer is making a Bass whammy.

I just realized something, hasn't Behringer had enough copyright infringing problems?

What new digital effects could they even make? There isn't really much more to tap into, at least not that I can think of.

Search KVRaudio.com for effects plugins and you'll see what else there is. Lots of stuff. Modulate this thing with that thing, insane pitch manipulation, grain delays. . .

I think that anyone who would respond to JazzAd's request for better digital effects is probably in the world of plugins, not bothering with pedals. That's why we just need to make the plugins available to those who work outside the realm of the DAW.
