Efficient 15''/100watts @ 4ohms?

Hey guys,
So I have a Genz Benz ML210. It is basically is two 100 watt 4ohms amps bridged into 200 watts at 8 ohms driving 2 10". It has a dual output mode though so it converts to 100 watts at 4 ohms to the 2 10" and then has another 100watts at 4ohms for an extention cab. I am playing in a DnB/Dub band and use lots of sub bass so I was thinking a 15" might be good to add. My question is there any 15" that is efficient enough to make any meaningful good sounding contribution to my subs or should I just stay with 200watts into my 2 10"?

I am not looking to overpower a stack of Marshalls or any thing. This is mostly for good sound monitoring on stage and practice purposes.

You don't need a 15 to get good bottom end; what you need is a well-designed cabinet. Speaker size is not the major factor. Good bottom end extension usually means a large cabinet.

I'm using a couple of very large Bag End 1x15's now, and they are some deep, deep mofos. But it's the large cab mated to the proper speaker that makes the difference, not the size of the speaker cone by itself. The Bag End's are quite efficient, too. Don't worry about the seeming excess of a really big cab at practice--it's one of the only practical answers to your situation.

Are you using the deep red bag end cabs?

As far a power rating though.....If I run a 100 watts @ 4 ohms into a speaker with a rating of 200 watts @ 8 ohms that would surelly not be enought to drive them correct? I mean they would not produce subs at a useful volume or am I way off here?
I tried to read up on ohms and such and read quite a bit of useful information, but still not sure.
4ohms at 100watts = 50 watt into an 8 ohm cab correct?
So that would not be suitable to drive a cab like the bag end correct?:confused:

The speaker power rating is fine if it's larger than the amp's output. That just means it's very hard---though not impossible---to burn out the speaker electrically. (You can still tear them up, but that's mechanical damage.)

As for impedance (ohms), a lower-impedance speaker will draw more power than one with higher impedance.

So if you use Dual Output mode:

Plug the internal cab into one output. Plug a 4-ohm (minimum) external cab to the other amp.

The internal cab is 8 ohms, so the amp will deliver 50w to it.

If the external cab is 8 ohms, the amp will deliver 50w to it also. If it's 4 ohms, the amp will deliver all 100w. But in this latter case, the external cab may be much louder.

The amp has no way to balance the two amplifiers, so you're going to have to audition some external cabs to find one that matches well with the internal cab.
