EHX Bass Big Muff or Fender Sub Lime?

Carrots.
BBM = meh
Sublime = way too big
Both are produced by giant companies that need not my money,...
Whereas there are a ton of options out there for better sounding,...more versatile,...more mojos fuzzes built by cool people whom you can contact directly and help put food on their table.

I vote black russian muff its so much better then the bass big muff. And the sublime is huge and with all the hidden knobs ill pass. you can find a black russian muff on craigslist for 40 to 60 $.
Tell them to clone the sublime (small enclosure, no toe dial, all top mounted controls), have it cost the same price and I'm in.
I would consider this an improvement,...in fact I would consider cloning this pedal (while crediting the original design) and putting it in a proper enclosure with proper knobs.
TBH the toe wheel on the Sub-lime smacks as a bit of an afterthought disguised as an attempt to be clever. IOWs it's a bit to faddish for me and the extra space it takes up is not a fair trade off for me.
Is it that hard to bend over and twist a knob? I guess it isn't for me but then again,...I'm not everybody.
IM TOTALLY WITH YOU ON THIS!.. and if ya look thru my gear list you will see TONS of small guy fuzzes in use or one time lovers. That said, if they were in the OPs narrow list, I would sing their praises just as well... I NEVER thought I would shill for a Fender pedal in any way, but I never thought the same of their amps either. Now here I am with a Fender 300 pro, and a Sublime and loving em both as much as any boutique Ive bought...
if he had a bit more money Id recommend the Ox, the Bluebeard, the TAFM, the Stache, the Musket, the Tall Font and more.. some of them have left my board for the sound Im going for, but the fender has stayed...

Sublime is it.
You can't beat the crossover option for the fuzz...the "toe" adjustment is great.
The size..sucks. But..it's still in my pedal board

More versatility with only one knob??
I've never used a sublime so I don't know, its a genuine question.
I had a Bass Big Muff for a while, my first fuzz pedal. I then went to a Swollen Pickle, was abit much for me, to much tweaking, I like my pedals simple. So I went to a Little Big Muff and was pretty impressed with it on bass, then I tried a Woolly Mammoth clone, not my thing at all, but I've kept it none the less, could come in handy recording.
And now, I'm using a Black Russian Big Muff and really love it. Can't see any new fuzz purchases for a good while.

The Sub-Lime has technically has 5 knobs, saturation in top, volume and drive on the sides and then two trimpors underneath which adjust OD tone and the cross over frequency, basically how much of your signal is affected.
I think the Sub is definitely worth a try. Its a very smooth thick fuzz which sits well in a band mix. It is nowhere near as full on as the Swollen Pickle or the Mammoth but its got a huge range of useable sounds nonetheless.
I've had both and, well I ended up giving the Muff to my guitarist while the Sub-Lime is the centre piece of my pedalboard. Both in terms of sound and space!
