EHX Bass Mono Synth not triggering consistently with my set up

Hi Bass guys, hope you can help me. I have just bought an EHX Bass Mono Synth as we want to do some Whitney songs with Synth Bass in our cover Band. I am plugging my Fender USA Performer Precision into the pedal and then into my Roland Cube 100W. Some of the results are good though it does not seem to be consistently triggering notes, tho I am defo playing single notes. Any ideas / hacks / playing tips / rig tips / amp setting tips that might help ? There is a great Andertons Bass video on Youtube (this is an outstanding UK Music store in Guildford, Surrey), where they have the pedal with an EHX Crying Baby Bass pedal ahead of it in the chain. There is no loss of notes for them so I am wondering if the pedal acts as a kind of preamp ? Anyway, your thoughts are greatly appreciated as I am finding it a bit frustrating ! If you turn up the sensitivity knob it should trigger better. Also Playing style makes a difference too,. If you have a soft touch on the strings or fat fingers like I do then using the pads of your fingers gives a duller attack and makes it more difficult to trigger the synth pedal. Sometimes using a pick helps

Many thanks for the response NT1127 ! Looking through the fora this is not an unusual issue with this pedal. One thing that I am trying now is using my Sire V7 Jazz which has an active circuit in it. This is sounding more positive and will hopefully trigger the synth notes a bit better and more consistently. All the best !

Good tip with the sensitivity knob but be careful and watch the LED on the pedal for clipping. I use a BOSS LMB-3 in front of my Mono Synth and it helps. Any compressor should do the trick...the pedal likes a consistent input coming from the bass.

I have an active Ibanez with hot pickups and I could never get the Mono Synth to track consistently. There were a couple decent sounds in it, but I couldn't get a consistent sound, especially live, I had massive volume drops. I sold it after two gigs with it. The Source Audio C4 is an option you may want to try. It will still take some getting used to for volume peaks and valleys, and it's a more in depth synth pedal with almost unlimited sounds and user patches you can download to the pedal.
