Thanks for the clips! I suppose I'll have to find a way to check this out now. I've been messing around with the filter settings on the M13 and, well, it's not quite this expansive.

EHX Enigma QBalls: Review

Looks like one trimpot is for distortion level, and it has the directional arrow and "Louder" label to guide you.
Any clue as to what the second trimpot is for? My guess is that it could be an input level control.
I traced the path to that pot and it leads to one of the photo-reactive LED things that controls the envelope.
So you could mess with it but make
sure you take a pic so you can reset

Edit: That trim pot controls the sensitivity of an LDR it looks like. so tweaking it without remembering where the preset is may result in an nonexisitant or uncontrollable envelope. For those of you with active or powerful basses - this may be a necessary course of action because they tune that control in the shop - and I doubt they include a bunch of active basses as a part of the test battery.

So for all of you that WISH wish wish that you could get this funky with a High Pass Filter Envelope - and use the sound live.
AH - clean blending is your friend - here we are set to a down HP filter on the resonant low edge of my bass for thump - fast attack and decay - Q and sens at 1 oclock Blend at 11 o clock. octabass is the only other effect in the chain for the first clip. I add fuzz in the second clip and turn off the Enigma Dist

Towards the end of the first DS-1 clip, I was thinking Linus and Lucy. 
Sounds awesome though. And #2...combine that with a delay capable of oscillation, and the ETs will be by shortly to respond to the distress signal due to too much speaker-blowing awesomeness.

Maybe both. I've go them hosted with godaddy under my domain. they seem to be working fine.
OK so - I'm now just completely committed to the Enigma.

and thankfully - this pedal has led to something that I've never had in 13 years of playing
a pedalboard.
Octave. Fuzz. Envelope. Chorus. Delay.

It's supposed to approximate if all the pedals were on - 550ms of delay, stereo chorus and then all the other usual suspects plus a cabinet sim of my 215.
So in addition to the Enigma, my board will consist of the EBS Octabass, a fuzz of my design, the Enigma, an old Ibanez CS9, and an EHX Memory Toy.
First part is with the fuzz, second part - fuzz is off and the enigma distortion is on.
I'm going for full on synth sounds - minus LFO.
I'm so excited because i'm finally getting the sounds that inspire me to really do my own thing.

Embrace the synth aspects of this pedal. Go beyond what you'd normally use an envelope filter for. and really think about the rest of your chain - including your fingers.
this pedal may NOT give you fantastic results if you expect to be off and running, plug and play. But if you spend some time - i'll guarantee that you'll be finding filter sounds you've never heard before - much less for this price.

Sorry, if this has been asked, but where the heck can I find this pedal. Musicians Friend doesn't have it, or music 123, zz sounds, etc. Only place that I can seem to find it is Amazon. I haven't checked GC, but I do not like going there.

The Mad Ape seems to have them off and on... I think the most recent shipment has all been spoken for though.
So its a supply thing? Then I am guessing that I must be unfortunately patient

Got mine Yesterday. I thought there was no way it would be here so soon. I went to the bar after work got home at 10:00 thinking I'd get a good night sleep only to find The Enigma had arrived. Next thing you know it's 1:30 and I have to wake up at 5:00. No biggie though cause I'm really liking this pedal alot.
Got mine today, took me a little while to dial in some useful sounds, but I freakin LOVE this thing 
I find with the distortion and the Band Pass mode blended w/ the dry signal, I get a very "Akai Deep Impact" type of sound.

Here's a few samples of some basic sounds I've been able to get out of it. MUCH more expansive than what I'm showing though... just haven't had the time to explore completely.
Standard Q-tron type envelope (little wetter sounding imo):
Same settings but wit the built-in distortion, switched to band-pass and blended w/ the dry signal:
Decreased the Delay so the filter tries to reset almost immediately, little wetter and more quacky:
