Just got this pedal. Here is a demo if you are curious what it sounds like on bass:
Thanks! Glad you liked it! And funny you should ask about a comparison. I was wondering the same thing, so I did an a/b/c test between this, a Bass Big Muff Pi (the only other muff I have) and a Mooer Fog Bass Fuzz.do you have any other big muff pedals? If so, would do a similar demo with them? this one of the best demos i have seen to show a pedal in different aspects of playing. looking for bass big muff, little big muff and the good old full scale big muff.
These days I have just come to the conclusion that others are doing the circuit much much better than the original manufacturer.
I'm so satisfied with my Russian Pickle, I have literally zero interest in the new offering from EHX. Haven't watched any demos, probably won't. Only checking out the threads to see what other people think of it.
Especially one of their biggest competitors (Dunlop) with the Swollen Pickle and especially the Russian Pickle.
I'll probably pick up the new EHX but from the demos I don't think it sounds any better or worse than the Russian Pickle. I'll wait till it's in my hands where I can make a head to head comparison. From the demo they sound pretty similar, at least to my ears. You might indeed be better off avoiding any comparisons or sound clips of the new EHX Muff vs. the Russian Pickle. Your feelings might just get hurt![]()

Yes I love the way huge boxes. The new smaller huge box is the perfect size IMO. I understand about the EHX being almost half the cost of the Russian Pickle but also I see more EHX pedals with broken pots and other issues than WH.I know I really like the Russian Pickle too, I would like to get another one someday. But the EHX is def more up my alley as it can get brighter and still hold the bottom. The Pickle can too but even with the tone knob dimed, I wasn't able to get it as bright as I would've liked. The EHX has no issues here. But I like the Dunlop box WAY better haha. The EHX is cool too, I'm just not a fan of the nano sized pedal. It's hard to beat Way Huges enclosures. Love that style and size.

You’re def not too far off there. I’ve seen and heard of faulty EHX FAR more than I ever have on Way Huges stuff. EHX quality control never bothered me much but I’m sure it would if I had had some issues in the past. And I do agree that the Pickle is far superior in build quality for sure. But in the end, it’s what it sounds like that’s the most important. And the EHX sounds quite a bit better to me. Oh, and I guarantee that the EHX has tons more and much more powerful output. The EHX just keeps on giving. The Pickle peters out the higher you go. But it can still perform well enough in a band mix.
