I put the pedal in the chain where I had wanted it to begin with - 2nd in line, immediately following my compressor, and just before the distortion pedal.
No audible pops. As quiet as I imagined it should be.
I am glad I don't have to modify it. It's a cool pedal, albeit probably one with limited use. I dig the tones it creates.
Is this a known and guaranteed fix? Are there any drawbacks? I'm wondering why pedal manufacturers aren't incorporating that resistor or other fix into their standard designs. Maybe some are.
