El Grande bass fuzz question

Hello and mary christmas

Just bought an el grande, and have to face 2 problems:

-Too much noise when the pedal is on. Terrible noise!

-Can't find the correct settings when i play with the band... i mean that there is noise in the studio but we cannot understand what the bass plays exactly! Just a fuzz noize in the air!

Does anyone have an idea? Would a battery be a solution to the first problem?

Thank you!

Probably because your bass is active. They tend not to play nice with most pedals. Try a battery thats been used a little while in your bass to keep the gain down a bit.

This is false. Most pedals do play well with active basses today because they are so common. What doesn't work well are pedals designed from the late 70s' with germanium diodes. Now that's nit saying pedals with those diodes won't work with active basses. And if it doesn't play well, the easiest trick is to turn the volume on your bass down a little.

I've used mine a couple of times with my Warrior active bass and didn't really notice any noise. Of course, it was low volume so maybe I need to check it again at a higher volume. I do know (like others have experienced) that the volume know on the pedal was barely turned up and nearly knocked me back because it was so loud. I can't imagine anyone needing to turn it all the way up.
