This is my preferred pickup layout. (warning, non Westone pic)
I still use the P alone 80+% of the time, but the other bucker makes a great thumbrest 100% of the time (if desired)

What a score! The autograph has been gone over with a woodburner, so it's not going anywhere.
What a score!
That autograph happens to be in the perfect place for a classic Fender style arm contour.
and the finish would be incredibly easy to redo, or even come close to matching if you wanted to make it a really easy project...
you know, just in case you're not a lifetime devoted DudleyHead.
Yeah, I've considered removing and refinishing but I listen to a lot of old country and like Dudley well enough. Also, it's a piece of Wisconsin music history and a little weird and unique so I'll probably keep it as is. I mean, how many Dave Dudley autographed basses actually exist?

Given the prices they fetch it's no surprise you miss itI wish I had it now.
ahhh. I don't even know what they are fetching...Given the prices they fetch it's no surprise you miss it![]()

Not a Westone, but pretty close...
Here's my 1976 Westminster (Westone sibling) Matsumoku-built Jazz bass clone.
I had to reroute the mahogany body to fit some Aguilar 4J60 pickups. I also replaced the stock tuners for Gotoh GB7s and reshaped the oversized headstock.
I have some expensive basses, but this thing gives them a run for their money. It plays really nicely and does have some character.
