Electric strings on Acoustic?

Hey guys, I'm thinking about building an acoustic bass for my second build and I'd kind of like to match the 38 inch scale of my electric but I'm pretty sure there's only a very few sets of strings that are that long and they are for electric. Is there any reason why this might not work?

It'll work, just won't get quite the volume or tone as acoustic strings would give, but it'll work fine.
