I am new to the upright bass and being in tune means more than anything at this point. Not that you shouldn't be in tune but I think, I hope, you get my drift since on the upright a tad out of tune can make a huge difference with intonation etc.
So since I had a tuner (a boss pedal) that worked fine with my electric bass, but had no pick up on the upright I decided to get one of those clip on things that cost anywhere between 5-10 bucks. got it today and it works very nice. It is not built like a tank but it does the job.
Just letting you know if anyone ever wonders
