Elixir Strings field trial and survey (free strings!)

Well, I was shocked when my Aunt deliverred an envelope containing some Elixer strings to me today! I never received any email verification that I was selected, so I was quite shocked to see that I was chosen. They will be going on my Roscoe as soon as I get the bass back from Keith.
I'll offer another perspective....I hated mine!! 104-45 Nanowebs. Keep in mind that I ususally use DR stainless strings so I didn't think that I would like these, I just didn't expect them to be that dull. I managed to keep them on my jazz bass for about 30 minutes before I put the 3 month old DR Hi-Beams back on...and these still sounded brighter and clearer than these Elixirs. I know, it's probably not a fair comparison, DR strings are some of the brightest and longest lasting strings around.
I just got mine today. I havent put them on yet, but I'll let you guys know what i think when i do. I had completely forgotten that i signed up for this and it was a very nice suprise in the mail. I currently play Highbeams but I they are a little too bright sometimes.

Didn't recognize the sender, and was irritated thinking it was yet another BS direct mail package I tend to get (used my work address). Man was I pleasantly surprised! It's not everyday you get a free pack of $40 strings. Can't wait to try these puppies out on my Jazz. I currently use GHS Boomers.

I've still to try mine on - cept a pack of nanos came in today.
Probably going to go the route of the polys and I don't mind the sound of duller strings, Don't like the new bright sound anyways.

My 5-string Nanowebs arrived Saturday. I was very happy to see that the B string was tapered, unlike the set I currently have on a Fender RB5. I might even try the new Elixirs on my Sadowsky P5... that one's getting the most PT these days.

P.S. I've been enjoying the nanos (nanos = nano nano??) on my Fender RB5. The high end is a little strange compared to uncoated strings, but even so I like it... the nanos are crisp without being too pingy or clanky. I think Elixirs will be a nice match for my Sadowsky... I'll report back here when I report back to Elixir.
It's nice to see, as the starter of this thread, that I also had a package awaiting my at the door this evening (I was away for the weekend.) Tomorrow the Jazz V gets stripped of it's far-too-old Prisms, cleaned up, and strung with a set of 5-string medium Nanowebs. Besides the tonal change from straight stainless steels, I'm interested in seeing how the (slight) move up from .100 to .105's sound and feel.

I got mine last night. I was beginning to think that I wasn't gonna get a set. I've got a set on my SR5 right now and they've been on there for about 2 months now. Still have that brilliance that they had when I first put them on, so if these aren't a factory fluke, they should be just as good. I usually go through a set about every 2-3 weeks, so this has definitely been a change for the better.
just got mine yesterday havent had a chance to try them out, hope all goes well, i got the 5 string set .045-.130TW

Just got mine, haven't put them on yet. It was a bit of a surprise because I completely forgot that I'd even signed up. I'm a little bummed though because they sent me a four string set. I know I signed up for a five cuz I haven't even owned a 4 string bass in years. Oh well, hey, four free strings is better than no free strings.
these strings are great! I wonder why I switch from Elixir to DR? Oh well, I'm back to Elixir now!
Just took the survey, and it jumped me to some informational page....no conformation oh well either way it was pretty painless so if I get a set of strings in the mail in a few weeks great...if not no big deal

I took mine off and took the final survey yesterday. I liked them at first but then I start missing my flats. I sent them off this morning. Wonder what this free gift will be?
