Elvis Jazz bass?

A few weeks ago I was given a Jazz bass by a friend. On the switch plate it has a switch to change the pickups. It only has one tone knob. It looks old and is very light. The neck is thick for a jazz and the only markings anywhere is the decal which says ELVIS on the headstock. It is a Fender shaped headstock. I was wondering if any of you have seen one of these or know anything about them. It sounds great but I have never seen one.

Thanks

The Elvis jazz bass was OK in it's own right but it was just a copy of the original Little Richard jazz bass.

If I remember correctly, the Elvis was the first white jazz that could replicate the tones of a black jazz.

Geddy Lee almost bought one, but he liked 70's pickup spacing better.

Not cool, guys! Pepsi shooting out the nose hurts! :D

An actual Jazz bass used by Elvis is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. IIRC, there was a pretty good description of it's history. Pretty sure it was a tobacco sunbust in relatively good shape despite it's age. It's located on the wall next to the metallic purple Cadillac.

Sadly, no Geddy Lee Jazz Bass to be found...

Here they are. Nothing special. Just wondering if you guys have seen one of these before.

It looks a lot like the Limited Edition Elvis Commemorative Model that came out in 1969. Except something's not right. The decal on the headstock might be a phony. If I remember correctly the "E" on the Elvis was squared up, not round like a backwards "3". And the original pickguards on the white basses were a pink color, almost lavender. It could be that the color on that one has faded out over time or it has been replaced. And there is a decal missing between the pickup and the bridge. There should be one about two inches wide of a triple bacon cheeseburger and a platter of twinkies. I'm sure someone more familiar with this model will chime in with some more particulars.
