EMG HZ vs EMG SSD

    Sorry for the zombie thread resurrection..............

    Just grabbed a Legend from a pawn shop this morning for cheap. Damn near mint. Straight neck and StrapLoks. Not sure of the preamp but the pickups are the SSD's. Whew this thing sounds horrid. Planning to upgrade to EMG 35JCS's and BTS system.

    Artisan Luthiers is a guitar repair and maintenance shop in Kennesaw, GA
    EMGSSD is an EMG Stuart Spector Designed bass pickup used in early models such as the NS-2002 series. They are decent bass pickups but nobody will be beating down your door to ask what you have in your bass.

    IMHO Hz are great pickups and as someone mentioned it already i doubt you will get any improvement.
