EMG JVX w active preamp?

Hey guys, I have a bass with an active pre-amp I am not happy with my current pick ups and want to try the EMGs. I know that these are active pick ups. Can I just swap them out with my pick ups even though I have an active preamp?
I have never swaped pick ups and I am a complete moron when it comes to those kind of things.

I use JVX pickups on my Jazz bass with an outboard Sadowsky preamp. I can't comment on wiring with an inboard pre, but the sound is tremendous.
