EMG pick up question...no tone knob?

Is it possible to install an EMG pickup, with just a volume knob?
I have a very small control cavity (and no way to router) that will fit the V pot the battery and the bus, but will leave no room for the tone pot.
Also I am a sh**ty solderer and the quick connect system is very appealing!

Just try it. With the quick connect system it's easy to do.

One of my basses has a P4 to a tone knob to the jack. I'm digging it so far since I never really use the volume knob. For a while I had it wired straight to the jack. Again, it was easy to make changes because of the quick connect system.

If you REALLY want the ultimate in no control, just wire the pickup directly to the jack ;)
I did it! With the cheapo pickup I will be replacing anyway, I said what the heck! I ditched the V T controls and went straight to the jack. A hack job of just twisting the wires together and electrical tape, A move I would normally be ashamed to admit (its only temporary, as I await my EMG). And it actually sounds so much better, somehow more organic, and it cut 90% of the passive noise, and grounding issue I was having. Wow!
It is a Dean Zone, single pickup, I got on the cheap, to experiment with, and for a back up. Now I am wondering if I need the EMG? What am I thinking!?! Of course I do!
