Does anyone know if there is any difference in the pot values or something I may be overlooking between these EMG wiring kits?
It seems odd to me that the J set kit is $7 more than the 1/2 pickup wiring kit but comes with less parts.

It seems that all the pot values from EMG are 25k for both the tone pots and volume pots. Is that correct?

Is there any reason to buy the J set kit over the 1/2 wiring kit?

Here are the links to both kits:

Um, let's back up a moment - EMG pickups are usually supplied with the hardware to install the pickup, including controls and jumpers. Why are you considering purchasing another harness?

because the output cable in my current harness developed a short at the solder junction for the two clamps that attach to the output jack. I can't find anywhere that sells just that single cable. So, unless there's something I'm missing, it looks like I'm going to have to buy another harness. Which in all honesty is ok with me, because I generally like to have extra parts available for when something decides to take a dump on me....like the output cable.
