EMG'S & SD AJJ1'S

Haven't had the new version but the older AJJ1's had built-in dips which was pretty cool actually - too bad these replaced them. I had two sets of their PJ's with those, two and 3 dip version. May have had the J's too don't remember. Was before I started doing the reviews.
Also noticed Duncan has "upgraded" their site which looks to be a downgrade from what was.
The older ones were actually fairly clear, mellow, refined passive sounding pups and dead quiet. Basically a nice Fender like tone. EMG's have a broad spectrum tone but are more hi-fi sounding, a harder tone with more edge and definition.

The newer AJJ1's are the same as the old ones with the dip switches.
The only difference "they say" is they took the most popular setting on the dip switches and hard wired them.
Do you remember if the low end between the EMG's and the AJJ 1's
were at all similar??

I don't recall an issue with the low end of either but to me they weren't similar pups but pups for different application.
Email Davidravenmoon, in recall he liked the SD dips and he knows EMG's so probably one of your better sources for a comparison of the two.
