Eminence AlphaLite 6 ? Fearful

Starting new 12/6/1 and can't find the Eminence AlphaLite 6. It is listed as out of stock or no longer available and is not on Eminence website. Sent them a note. Any used ones out there; hear anything about this? Greenboy site down, so I guess there's no substitute, except for Alpha (now called American Standard series) and no crossover plans forthcoming.

In my first prototype 12/6 I used a B&C. For the most part, I biamped that cab using an Eden WT-800. I have to say, that setup was simply mah-velous. The jihhs of the B&C are super sweet.

I now have a spec built 15/6 with the BMS and CBG x-over. Love it. I think you need 2 of the 12's to keep up with it though. For my use a significant pad on the BMS would be reuired for any reasonable facsimile of balance with a single 12.

The ferrite-magnet Alpha-6A seems to be available and will work, at the cost of weighing a couple of pounds more than an Alphalite. The 6ND410 will also work, but is about double the price of an Alpha and requires a different crossover network.

"no crossover plans forthcoming" ???

I am no expert either but that was the initial mid for 15/6/1, but the X-over design changed quite a bit over the years and later X-overs May have paired better with different mid drivers.

All that said I had a more modern X-over retrofitted to my 15/6 (with the 18Sound 6ND410 mid) and it sounds just fine.

Yes I saw it and 'liked' it and am looking into it, thanks again, that is my preferred choice, have one with the alpha 6, but now going for a goal of lightness with the next one, very unlike the first bass cab I made, a 70 lb 2x10, but it sounds great, at home, in practice room, not so good for lugging around. Going with oakume, and etc... prob. As always looking for best deal, only way I can do this hobby.

Thanks for using and supporting Eminence speakers. I'm sorry to report that there are no leftovers or plans to reintroduce to the catalog. We can make more of them, if we receive an order for 100 pieces or more, but that's about the only way.
