End Of String Wrap Color?

The best resource I know for that kind of thing is right here. If you have a specific strimg, color, or bass in mind shoot the question and I give it an hour tops before you have the answer. This place is scary good for that kind of stuff.

Looking for OEM color/string type?

Besides that, it's anything someone put on since it was new (2nd set/ 45th set, etc).

Being specific about a string type, ball ends, silk color, which ends, will get better results.

I understand. What I'm looking for first is to determine what silk color Fender generally put on '64 P's. For example, I bought a new April '66 P and vividly remember the silk color as being a turquoise-ish color. It could be that the November '64 P that I have came with the same turquoise-ish since there's less than a year and a half between the two. If I can determine the color, I can then decide on what strings to go with. Right now, I'm pretty flexible on string type, or even if there's no ball wrap. I'll have the bridge cover on it.

Rotosound 66 Nickels if you want turquoise.

Even after a guy at Fender told me that they didn't, I plundered through my stash of strings and discovered that Fender does, or at least did, make a flatwound with the turquoise-ish silk wrap. I usually buy strings in bundle deals and/or and stock up on them. I didn't remember having these, but they are a near identical match to those on the early 60s and exactly what I was looking for the '64 re-string.

Here it is standing beside the '66 P. I now need to get those on the '66 as well. They are Fender 9050L Light, Long Scale stainless steel flatwound .045-.100. Here they are.

I posted to the silk wrap topic and have had no response, last question before me was 2015.
Any idea what brand of string used a light gray wrap at the peg head, silver ball with no wrap.
I'm guessing Dean Markley Blue steels, but I'm not a bass player, just love the way thos string feel and sounded when I bought the bass.
Is there a quick test for determining stainless or Nickel?

Dean Markley uses black, or black/blue ball ends.

Here are GHS SuperSteels on my Warwick....but this was maybe 10 years ago. Not sure if they have changed. Light grey with no wrap at the ball.
