Double Bass End Pin clearance problem.

I've got a little problem with my bass. My end pin has a bit clearance, even when i turn it as tight as possible.
This makes my bass drop over it's end pin while i'm playing which is kinda annoying.

Is anyone fammilliar with this problem, or does anybody have a clue what it could be or how to fix it??
I'm a realy tall bloke (6'9" , 2.06m) so I realy need my bass to be up a bit :smug:

if i am understanding you, your endpin is not locking when you tighten it. if this is correct, i have a few suggestions...
1- try filing a notch in the pin for the screw to tighten in to.
2- get a custom wood endpin (ron carter style) for your height.
3- have a luthier install a new endpin (entire unit, cork, ring, pin, lock, etc)
