Double Bass Endpin cork lining

I searched this forum, but didn't see anything. I have to make a repair on a schools' 1/2 bass (christopher). The endpin cork (plastic?) lining is clean gone, and the screw-on tip has screwed-off and is gone.

1) What's the procedure for replacing endpin cork lining?

2) Where can I get replacement screw-on tip for christopher?

Well, it I were doing it, I would make the new liner, or attempt to do so, of the thin cork sheets one can purchase at hardware stores.

As I have no idea what the tip looked like, I'd either have to buy one from the manufacturer, or just wing it, and build something to suit. (No baby-shoes, prob'ly...)

I'd wrap and glue thin cork or rubber around the endpin (with a paper liner) to the right thickness and tape it up till the glue sets. that makes your liner.

If you don't want to replace the whole endpin assembly, see if you can find a steel bolt wih the right thread. Then you can make up another tip, grind one down if you really need a spike, but for a school half size bass you're probably best with a nice rubber stopper!
