Hi,
Probably a dumb question but I can't find the answer anywhere. On the endpin the little metal ring above the rubber foot....what is it called. I've googled it and can't find anything. I've lost mine and need to order a replacement.
Thanks
It's called a collar, but you can't likely order a replacement from a music supplier. You could replace the entire pin, or just do without. You don't really need it. If you really want to replace it you might try a
Shaft Collar
or a Drill Bit Stop Collar
A one piece shaft collar will hold better and can be purchased from McMaster.com for a few bucks plus shipping. You just need to know the pin diameter.
If you want to get really into this, then try Quick-Release!
Now you can not only keep your endpin from falling into the bass (oh, what a hassle), but set the collar at the proper playing length. I don't know how I managed to learn Bass without this device! Should I start selling them?
