Entering into big cab territory...

What Giant Cab for awesomeness?

Try the Traynor 8-10. I have , with an SVT...it sounded AWESOME.:ninja::ninja::hiding::ninja::ninja:

Clearly you have never seen or heard a Sunn 2000S cab. Big.


Anyway, to the OP, it really depends on the specific 810, 412, 610, 215, whatever.

I use a fairly large 215, but you can't really go wrong with an Ampeg 810. Or two.

Yeah, I think those LDS are looking pretty viable for that 215 and their 810 is $100 less... There's a Genz Benz 215B on CL right now so I might check that out.

Well my 2 cents says either find another matching 410 (if you like your tone and sound now), or the Carvin 810 does sound very good....But I have played alot of "Big" cabs and the best sounding and most diverse one is the SWR Megoliath 810. Great tones and you can split the cab and run dual power amps...sound is very diverse. Good luck on choice.
Oh and I had an El Whappo and it sounded AWSOME, BUT It was VERY clean and clear. Great for most music but if it's metal....you really have to tweek your eq. to cut through.

I traded a small combo amp for an older Hartke 8x10 and the cab sounds fantastic. I think the dude just wanted to get that monstrosity out of his house, that thing is crazy heavy 150lbs, it kills though. Very clear and punchy, fills any room, it was cheap, and handles 900 watts at 4ohms. Not sure where you are located but I am not using the cab right now and would trade or sell it. I am in VA.

Bassman Paul makes a great point . And I have agree with him and think about its just one more thing to transport .. 4x12, 6x10 or 8x10 is the ticket but a good powerful head is the secret even if you don't need all the power .. it seems to me headroom adds its own tone...
