I've heard it's really good. There was someone here (maybe Jauqo III-X?) who said he actually asked gig-fx to make the envelope filter in the Sub-Wah as a standalone pedal.

I did but at this point Gig-Fx aren't even making the Sub Wah pedal.
Not saying that they are no longer making the Sub Wah pedal just not at the moment.

In any case, my MXR Bass Auto-Q is great for anything funky and I have used it for many years. Great pedal. Discontinued, but cab be found used for under $100.

If you go with the DOD make sure it's not the the FX25B. When you hit it, there is a noticeable volume drop.
Digitech's Synth Wah is actually pretty sweet and has a ton of good sounds, not a bad price either.

I've tried 'em all and there are some fantastic choices out there. I always seem to come back to the MXR Auto-Q though, just has a good sound and easy to use, and the delayed LFO feature is very handy.
I have a bassballs which works good for that pop synth type "whomp" fuzzy sound. I also have an MXR bass envelope filter which is sweet because you can mix your clean signal in.
I really like my MXR Bass envelope filter too. It's really versatile, and it isn't limited to funky stuff.
