EP-3/ Catalinbread Belle Epoch

I've always loved the Echoplex sound and know there are people here who use it as a pre, but I can't find any information or soundclips of it used as a delay/echo with bass.

The Belle Epoch sounds pretty sweet on guitar, but, again, no soundclips with bass.

I have used the search function.

Please enlighten me.

Hi Django,

I tried both the Belle Epoch and the Echorec in the store. In the end I bought the Echorec, mainly due to it being able to have a more percussive sound in the repeats, which I liked. However, the Belle Epoch sounded great and I would really have liked to own both.

The Belle Epoch sound tremendous as soon as you turn it on. Both the repeats, but also it feels like your basic bass sound is improved as well (because of the preamp?). I would describe the repeats of the Belle Epoch to be smoother than with the Echorec. I really liked the Rec Lev control of the BE, which is like a pre-gain for the delays. It really helps in sculpting the sound of the delays that you like. Would really have loved that control on the Echorec as well.
All in all, I only tested it for about an hour, but I found the Belle Epoch to be very good!

Cheers,
Kalle
