Nice looking bridge!!
It's not the right fit for my current band, but I like to pull out my Woody when I'm playing with myself at home.
I finally put ultra light tuners on mine. The original tuners were very sloppy. The balance of the instrument is also much better now.
I also put on chromes and several months later the E string is just not good enough. The other strings sound fine. So I'm string shopping again.
Do you get as many compliments on her as I do? The minute I take her out of the case people start commenting.

I put on Hipshot ultralight tuners. I like the look of them too.

Easy to play, even if you are accustomed to full-scale basses, not well-made and not easy to intone. It has a sound that you either like or dislike (I like it) but at least it's not another inexpensive bass with no particular sound, or a sound that in some vague way almost sounds like another bass whose sound people do like. It has a real sound. I've kept mine because I enjoy playing it. Tough to gig with for more than a few songs because of the intonation-tuning inconsistencies. Epiphone needs to work on quality control, especially their bridges, but this one still is a good value if you like its distinctive tone.
That sucks about yours, but the build quality on mine seems great and the intonation is near perfect. But it's kinda nice to see talk of this bass amidst all the fancy shamcy single cut talk. Can everyone post pics of any mods? Tuners and bridges and pickups and such? Epi Allen Woody club perhaps?
I never saw one before I saw it in the store the first time. I played it for a few minutes and got it right there. I never thought I'd want a red bass, let alone one with gold hardware but it works on the this. It's really a beautiful instrument.
No complaints on the intonation either, but I do have a few frets I'll want someone qualified to look at when I get some money. They don't sound 100% to me.
I love this bass. My fretting hand is finally happy.

Me too. I compensate by doing mediocre work while reading bass forums and playing bejeweled.

I've done some decal work obviously. Didn't really care about not matching the gold hardware with the new tuners.

I like the fretboard inlays. My tuners seem fine to me so they'll stay. I like the Hofner style knobs georgiagoodie put on his though.
Question for all: Where does everyone like their pickup volumes and tone? I like my tone nearly all the way down and fairly balanced pickups. Just a little bit louder on the bridge (not quite bridge) pickup.

Yeah, I think they look a lot better than the Gibby knobs. The gold tops of the tea cups match the rest of the hardware, and the controls LOOK like a Hofner.
Did you get them from anywhere in particular? Allparts has them for 15 bucks a piece. Is that about right?
