Epifani DIST cabs impedance switch

For curiosity sake: how does the impedance switching in Epi DIST series work?

The link mentions dual voice coil drivers, so presumably switches between different impedance voice coils, I cynically think about sensitivity and wonder if you actually get any more volume running an s/s amp into the 4 ohm set instead of the 8 ohm ones. The epifani web page on;y gives a single sensitivity figure, but it would be interesting to know whether the sensitivity is in fact identical for the two configurations.

The Hartke HyDrive HD112 also employs a dual voice coil that allows for 4 or 8 ohms selection.
If I recall correctly, the first generation Accugroove cabinets (not what's offered today) also had impedance selection, and it was generally flamed because the company had a clumsy explanation as to how it works.
