Epifani UL410 vs UL112 stack

IM trying to decide which of these i want. As far as being small and compact,even though i know they weight about the same, i would prefer the 112stack. I have no playing experience with either of these since theres no dealer locally. Do you all think the stack would be able to handle medium size clubs, or should i just go for the 410 since i know its a do all cab, but could be overkill? If it helps ill probably be using a UL502 as my head and i play a modulus Q5. Also let me know about the major tone differences between the two.

I've had both.... the 410 is much louder and to my ears, it has more low end response. I believe the horns are the same on both of them. I had a 4 ohm version. However, I still own the 112 stack because of its versatility and portability, but I also have larger cabs for larger venues. I actually just played a gig with the 2UL's and an SA410. Just massive.

Unfortunately, I have little experience with the UL502.

I've have experience with both the UL410 and UL112 Stack. In my mind the UL410 blows away the UL112 stack in tone and of course usable volume. I very much like a single UL112, and use one regularly for rehearsals and small private jams with friends. However, on the gig, the UL410 wins hands down to me.

Sorry, I should have mentioned. My current gigs have no PA support for bass. If you are using your amp as simply a stage monitor, you could probably get away with the UL112 stack. Also, maybe consider the UL310. You would only have to carry one cab, and it is very light weight and small and a bit louder than the UL112 stack if you need it. If I had PA support, I wouldn't hesitate to use the UL310. Even if I didn't and only played small bars and clubs regularly, I wouldn't hesitate. One large cab (though I would call the UL310 large to be exact) is going to give you more usable volume and low end punch than two small cabs, at least in this particular case.

Honestly, I really didn't think the UL112 stack was very good in the mix at all. I really love one UL112, but adding the second, while increasing the low end, seems to take some mids away that makes it get a bit lost. I really think if you want an Epifani cab, the UL310 or UL410 is your best bet for gigging.

I haven't heard the UL410, but I know my UL310 (w/LMII) works great for stage volume or smaller rooms. Unless you're playing big rooms or outdoors w/out PA support, the UL310 would probably do the trick. It's also very easy to carry and the footprint is a good deal smaller.

I use a UL310 or go with a PS112 if it's just a small jam, kinda like Tony. Since we're moving to N. VA and space will be at a premium, I may turn the PS112 into a UL110.

I currently have the UL310 and used to own a UL112 x 2 stack. For my needs, the UL310 blew away the stack. It has more punch and depth. It doesn't exhibit any 'boxiness' that smaller cabs get. It has a more pleasing midrange charactor. All in all, both are great choices, but I am continually surprised with what the UL310 can do.

That doesn't mean that tommorow I won't find a newer, better cab--but for the last few months, I've been digging the 310.

i see. I figure everywhere i play, theres gonna be PA support. Were doing a 2month tour in January, im trying to get my gear in order. THE rest of the band says i need a stack liek what i currently have, which is a goliathIII and Son of Bertha, for looks sake because were only a 3 piece. THey say i need to fill out the stage a bit which i really dont care about but i do kinda swee what theyre saying. IM kinda laning towards the 310, i guess if it really makes them feel better i could stack it on top of a dummy cab or something, who knows. decisions decisions.........

.....or you could get two UL310's or UL410's and a UL902C.....:D

It just seems that the 310UL is perfect for what you need, and I agree with the posts above.

Regarding looks... wow.... strange. Does your band really think that anyone in the audience is even remotely aware of stage rigs. This is even more strange since most 'arena level' touring bands don't even use backline anymore... or at least never have it on stage.
