Hey all,

So I'm left handed and it's hard to find a guitar in a store that I can play and mess around with before buying. At my local store there is a used Epiphone dot for 249. I was wondering if I should pick it up, it seems like a nice deal, I played with it for a bit yesterday it was nice. I've been wanting a semi hollow for some time now but had my eyes on the Sheraton 2. But being a lefty and in Canada, a new Sheraton 2 is 695.00. ( which my store also has in stock, played it, loved it, but the price is a bit steep, being a poor student working part time)

Any recommendations on the Dot? or should save up and the Sheraton 2 in may for my birthday? I think I'd be happy with either guitar, but im wondering if the dot is a deal i shouldn't pass up.

Thanks

*Again I seem to have posted this in the wrong forum. I meant this for the Off topic forum :( sorry guys, could a mod move this? thanks

As you are in the misc. section, I assume talking about a guitar is fine. I have only played one but know several people that have them. The general opinion appears to be that they are a good guitar for the money and that if you are willing to put some work into them (A little fret dressing and upgrade the pups) they can be quite nice. Sounds like you could do a lot worse.

I'm talking about the Guitar, not the bass. I didn't even know there was a bass version!

Oh..okay, then we're both lost.. I just assumed they'd done a bass. LOL.... I think the guitar is really nice.... for someone who wants a 335 style guitar, it's very cool for the price.

Epiphone does a nice job bringing affordable guitars to the masses. My friend has an Epi jazz box that sounds great and plays beautifully. And the Mastertone flat tops are really nice too.
