Epiphone EB-0 pick up

I've narrowed down my hunt for a replacement pick up for the above bass, its between the Dimarzio model one and the will power.

Has anyone hesrd these 2 against each other, I'm looking for more of a fatter sound rather than the muddy sound it produces now.

Also do they supply the volume switch to single tap the coil.

Any help would be much appreciated

My EBO already had a Model 1 when I bought it. Great choice for this bass .

I considered tapping/splitting the coil but by most accounts the results aren 't as pleasing as using the full pickup.

I don 't have any experience with the Will Power , but if memory serves the poles are a Fender spaced .

My bass has a Hipshot Supertone bridge as well. This is a good playing and sounding , fun bass .

The Will Power is made for a wider string spread like a Fender. Otherwise they are the same.
I have both my SG and EB-O Epi set up with 3 way switches.
I never use it. It drops volume and not much else.

Novak make a cool replacement.I had pete biltoft of vintagevibeguitars.com redo mine to a p-90 ish style single coil it worked great and kept the stock appearance.

I was going to suggest the Novak pick up but wasn't sure if the OP wanted to spend more on a pick up then he did for the bass.

Ok cheers guys, so the model one is the better one for the EB-0?

I've looked into the Novak pick up which sounds brilliant but I'm in London so with taxes and postage it's over £200.

If you can find a stock SG pick up get that.
I put the one I took out of my SG in a EB-O and it sounded great. Better than it ever did in the Gibson.

If you must get one of the DiMarzio pickups, then get the Model One for the reason hdracer said: it has the proper pole piece string spacing for the EB-0, where the Will Power has the wider string spacing for use in a bass derived from Fender string width specs. Also, the Will Power is made for a biamp setup, and has a few more windings on it, that may be a little too thick on the mahogany EB-0 body.
